San Saturno Cathedral of Cagliari


Also dialectally called San Saturnino, the San Saturno Cathedral of Cagliari denotes a very accurate early Christian style, indicated as one of the most ancient finds of the Sardinian island and one of the most celebrated buildings inside the Mediterranean. It was inaugurated between the 5th and 7th Century in virtue of the San Saturno martyrium, then elevated to Patron of Cagliari, while in history wanted it martyred under the reign of the Diocletian emperor. Ultimately the cathedral returned to the limelight since it was returned to a pagan-Christian site of a necropolis dated between the 2nd and 5th Century, adjacent to the same.
