The best beaches of Cagliari

Cagliari is also famous for its long sandy beach, the Poetto, which runs from the port of Marina Piccola for about seven kilometres of coastline. A long free beach that gives the possibility to residents and tourists to experience the sea at most throughout the year.

Poetto offers many equipped cafes and kiosks, but also some public or exclusive bathing establishments. In the evening, during summer, the beach of Cagliari becomes a meeting place thanks to concerts and bars that close late at night.

In addition to Poetto, Cagliari also has some small beaches, known only by the inhabitants and which are worth a visit especially during the days of strong mistral wind.

The first recommended beach is the small beach of Calamosca, a small and very quiet cove of white sand and rocks frequented by habitué.
In the village of St. Elia on the contrary, it is possible to spend a day on the beach of St. Elia, just in front of the restaurant Lo Scoglio. Small cove mostly frequented by families of the near neighbourhood.

For those who do not mind walking between hills and sea, the beach of Cala Fighera is the natural place for nudists but also a gay friendly beach of Sardinia.
